Alex Sin is an independent consultant with more than 26 years of IT experience with expertise in Consulting, Project Management and Training. While at Hewlett-Packard HK SAR Limited in the previous 10 years, Alex Sin was the Learning and Development Manager and a certified instructor in a number of training including Negotiation, Consulting and Management Development. Alex is certified as a ITIL/ITSM Manager, well equipped with Methodology to deliver IT Consulting. He is also a practitioner of PDI, MBTI and DISC well-known consulting tools. He holds various certificates, including PMI Certified PMP® and PMI-ACP®.

Alex enriched his Project Management experience from large scaled projects like Libraries, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and Companies Registry. Alex shifted his role to business manager in 1995 and was dual-hatted as the Outsourcing Manager in charge of Home PC Call Centre. Since Y2K, he dedicated himself to Learning and Development and developed a number of professionals in the Greater China.

Alex is the current Vice President of Young PM Development at Project Management Institute Hong Kong Chapter (2015-2017). He also served previously as Vice President of Certification and Vice President of Membership and Recruitment at PMIHK. Alex graduated from The University of Toronto with major in Computer Sciences and Mathematics.

Dr. Frankie Lam

Topic: Human Resources Management - the Growing Profession and Professionalism

Dr. Lam has served for various multi-national companies in Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and Hong Kong in the HR leadership and general management roles. In the 90s, he served as Director of Human Resources Greater China for a Canadian telecom equipment provider, and then Vice President Human Resources Asia Pacific for two “Fortune 500” companies. After that, he was appointed Managing Director of a leading executive search firm in Asia, and more recently Executive Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Development for a well-established Hong Kong listed company. Dr. Lam has practical global human resources and management experience having lived and worked in the USA and across Asia Pacific. He was the winner of “Outstanding Contribution to HR” of the Hong Kong HR Award.

Academically, he served as Adjunct Professor of City University of Hong Kong, Chairman of Department Advisor Committee (Department of Management) of City University of Hong Kong, and was instrumental in strengthening the Bachelor degree program with a major in human resources management. At present, he leads the Master of Science in HR Management & Organizational Behaviour Program for Lingnan University to build a solid platform of advanced HR training and education for current and future HR leaders.

Dr. Lam is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Director and Fellow Member of Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management. He served as Independent Non-Executive Director for two Hong Kong listed companies in the last 5 years.

Robert Chan had been worked in the education field for about 5 years and a frequent speaker for numerous education expos. Being an expert in the field, he was also invited to give presentation 3 times in the HKTDC Education and Career Expo, 2 times in the City University of Hong Kong etc. In 2016, he had been invited to different occasion and given 30+ talks related to the opportunities nowadays in Surveying Industry. Besides, Robert was also invited to the Government House, Hong Kong in June representing the institute in which groom the surveying profession in Hong Kong.
