As the war for talent is heating
up, it is even more challenging for organisations
to attract great talents. Other than a competitive
remuneration package, training and development
opportunities and a clear career path, a good
employer brand is equally important. It is because
the potential candidates not only look at how
much money they can earn, but also the employer¡¦s
contribution to society. Whether the company is
a caring one that does a lot to fulfill its corporate
social responsibility (CSR) is a major consideration
as well. As a result, more and more organisations
embark on CSR programs, with an aim to build a
sharp and good employer brand to attract and engage
talents.
It is believed that a CSR program can be a key
component of an organisation¡¦s talent management
strategy. As CSR programs highlight an organisation¡¦s
corporate culture, it can be an influential factor
in attracting and engaging top talent. The key
is that organisations understand how to communicate
their CSR involvement to both current and potential
employees.
This issue's cover story will explore the connection
between CSR practices and talent management with
a seasoned consultant and professionals sharing
their insights and suggestions. In an uncertain
economic climate, it is every HR practitioner¡¦s
challenge to effectively attract, manage and keep
top talents while creating value for the organisation.
Therefore, besides CSR and talent management,
this issue also presents a number of feature interviews
with experienced professionals sharing insightful
ideas, while key topics like executive education
trends will also be explored. Hope all these would
give you some ideas of optimising your own talent
management strategies. |
